Imagine you are a photographer entering a darkroom, film in hand. You have some idea or expectation of how your final image will appear based on what you chose to focus on and what lens you looked through.
There’s an understanding that it’s a process. It requires curiosity and creativity. Sometimes it can feel really challenging and other times it can feel like magic is happening before your eyes.
The darkroom is a place, like the counselling session, where experimentation happens. Where you try something, adjust, and try again. And the result is the emergence, the coming-into-being, of something that was there all along.
Our lived experiences shape us on so many levels. Oftentimes the parts of ourselves we like the least are actually protecting our deepest vulnerabilities or pointing us to our deepest needs.
Where we can invite the hard things and the joyous things and hold space for them together. And where we can get curious about the things that will support you to feel less pain and experience more agency and aliveness.
It can feel scary to think about delving into an emotional experience that feels like it’s too big or too much.
We focus on developing awareness and capacity to allow you to engage with your feelings and process painful experiences without getting overwhelmed.
We shed light on what is important to you and what wants to be heard, so that you can build trust, acceptance, and confidence in yourself.
